April, who made her stage debut at three years old, is a professional actress, singer, dancer, model, stylist, and producer in Washington DC and New York.

April has been seen onstage in such roles as Ophelia in Hamlet; Juliet in Romeo and Juliet, Kate in Taming of the Shrew; Allura/Carla in the musical City of Angels, Grusha Vashnadze in The Caucasian Chalk Circle, Dancing Jasper in the Dream Ballet of The Mystery of Edwin Drood, Lynette in the DC premier of Beastly Beauty, and Julie in the world premier Making up History: Searching for Annie Moore.  One of April’s most memorable on-stages moments was performing an original one-woman show Permed, in which she wrote, directed, and stared; both in Miami, and the Washington DC metro area. 

At age twelve an interest in fashion lead April to began modeling; both on the runway and in print.  By sixteen she was traveling the country modeling and made the transition into TV and Film acting. 

April has appeared on such TV shows as America’s Most Wanted, the Jamie Kennedy Experiment, VH1’s Talk Back Live, Extra! On Italian Music Channel, and as a model on the Wheel of Fortune. 

Favorite Film Credits include: Angelique in Heron Bay, Kelly in Open Door, Bobbie in Heaven Burns, Carly in For Carly, Cassandra in the internationally acclaimed film Sisters, and Martha in Award Winning short Assault in Brooklyn. 

April has been seen working the runway as a model in cities such as Houston, Dallas, Miami, LA, and NYC; and has worked on local, state, and national ad campaigns as a fashion and commercial print model.  April has also held the Pageant titles of Texas State Universal girl 1999, Cinderella International Woman Beauty 2003, Miss Houston 2001, Miss Harris County 2002, and Miss North Miami 2003; which earned her the opportunity to compete in Miss Texas, Miss Florida, and Miss Alaska where she placed Top Ten, and Top Five.  Other awards won at the state level include interview award, swimsuit award, evening gown award, special judges’ award, alpha interview award, and overall alpha award.

April attended New World School of The Arts, a conservatory program affiliated with the University of Florida, on a full scholarship to study musical theater and acting.  While at New World she was placed on the dean’s list and national dean’s for eight consecutive semesters, and was inducted into the Phi Kappa Phi honors society before graduating, Summa Cum Laude, in 2003 with her Bachelors of Fine Arts (BFA).

Although April spent her life learning the in’s and out’s of performing, both on stage and on camera, she was also interested in what made the business work from all aspects.  Following this interest April worked as a casting assistant for Ellen Jacoby Casting International in Miami, Florida; with Spotty Dog Production in NYC; and with NYC Director/writer Joe Calarco as a production assistant.  April is co-creator, stylist, and an Executive Producer of The Downhome Divas, a web series helping women achieve ultimate style on a budget; and co-founder of Over Achievers Anonymous Productions, LLC.  You can view the show and read April’s Blogs at www.thedownhomedivas.com.   

After years of watching family members suffer from Autoimmune Disease, April, at Eighteen years old, founded Hope Heals; a non-profit organization dedicated to bring about awareness, education, and support of victim of Autoimmune Disease (also known as A.D.).  April over saw the development of all of Hope Heals’ programs including: The Bearable Bear Blanket program, Dream the Impossible Dream Teen Program, and Woman to Woman.  The Bearable Bear Blanket program, Hope Heals’ largest and most successful program, organized and educated volunteers nationally; and has brought hope to ailing victims of A.D. across the country.  April even received Special Recognition from The Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital for her work with Hope Heals.

April is so excited to be in her eighth year as an instructor, coach, and consultant.  April teaches/coaches Acting, Modeling (both runway and photo posing), Musical Theater, Singing, Dance, Body Language, Social Interaction, interview, Public Speaking, Pageantry, Make-up application (for stage, camera, and everyday), and works as an Image consultant, Stylist, Entertainment industry coach, and Life coach. 

April’s students have been seen performing on stage at regional theaters across the country, at the famous Studio Theater in DC, The world renowned Kennedy Center, and on Broadway; As well as in local, state, and national print ads, commercials, TV shows, and films.  April’s Clients also include Politician’s, Published Authors, Doctors, Corporate Executives, Race Car Drivers, Rock Stars, and Socialites.  April Has had the privilege to work with local, state, and national pageant contestants and title holders and has judged and emceed pageants at both the local and state level.           

As stated earlier, April has been teaching for eight years, and absolutely loves it.  She has an immense passion for the arts, pageantry, and the art of communication and adores sharing this passion with others.  Because of her years working in the theater, on TV, in film, on radio, in the dance studio, in print, on the runway, in the casting office, behind the camera, in pageants, as a judge, as a Stylist & Image consultant, as the creator of a one woman show, as founder & spokesperson for a non-profit organization, and as an executive producer April has the skill and experience to help guide you to reach your goals.  She is so looking forward to working with you, and watching your skill and passion for these exciting, and addictive, art forms grow!
